A. General Requirements: ● The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required for the complete and proper execution of the work. ● The contractor shall maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times and take appropriate measures to protect adjacent property and personnel. ● All work must comply with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications. ● Coordinate all required inspections and documentation with the State Fire Marshal and the State Public Works Division. ● Building permits issued by the State Fire Marshal and the State Public Works Division, along with the stamped approved drawings, must be posted at the job site. ● Coordination with campus facilities and infrastructure teams is required to minimize disruptions. ● Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper operation of the new generator and associated electrical components. ● Provide as-built drawings and documentation upon project completion. ● Conduct a site assessment to verify existing conditions and coordinate logistics for equipment removal and installation. B. Removal & Disposal of Existing Generator and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) ● Decommission and disconnect the existing generator and (ATS) safely. ● Remove and transport the existing generator, ATS, and associated components for proper disposal or recycling per environmental guidelines. C. Site and Infrastructure Modifications: ● Upgrade and reinforce the existing equipment pad to support the new diesel generator. ● Remove the existing natural gas line and cap it at the source in accordance with local codes and safety standards. D. Generator Replacement: ● Deliver and install a new diesel generator as specified in the project design documents. ● Ensure all connections (electrical, fuel, exhaust, and control wiring) are properly installed and secured. ● Conduct all necessary testing and commissioning, including load testing (4 hour minimum at startup), to verify system functionality. E. Electrical Upgrades: ● Provide and install a new ATS per the single-line diagram. ● Install new electrical panels and transformers as indicated in the project design. ● Provide new red receptacles for freezers and refrigerators to ensure backup power availability.
