I. General Project Goals • Design a welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable Wellness Center that serves students, faculty, and staff. • Integrate diverse programmatic functions — fitness, wellness, academic, and support services — into a cohesive facility. • Prioritize student mental/physical health, universal accessibility, and flexible learning spaces. • Incorporate evidence-based wellness design, and user-centered programming. Spaces may include the following: Mental and Emotional Health Spaces • Private Counseling Offices – individual and couple’s therapy • Group Counseling Rooms – for support groups and workshops • Crisis Intervention Room – immediate, private response space • Telehealth Suites – equipped for secure virtual counseling • Meditation / Mindfulness Rooms – quiet, low-stimulation environments • Reflection / Interfaith or Spiritual Room – inclusive contemplation space • Behavioral Health Suite – counseling integrated with health Physical Health & Fitness Spaces • Fitness Center / Gymnasium – with strength, cardio, and flexibility zones • Group Exercise Studios – yoga, dance, spin, HIIT, etc. • Indoor Walking/Running Track – optional • Locker Rooms with showers and changing areas • Recovery / Stretching Zone – post-exercise decompression area • Multipurpose Physical Activity Room – martial arts, wellness events, etc. Nutrition and Food Security • Campus Food Pantry – with: o Check-in and intake area o Shelving and dry/cold storage o Distribution counter • Demonstration Kitchen / Teaching Kitchen • Nutrition Consultation Office • Dining Area – wellness-focused, optional • Hydration Stations / Water Bottle Fillers • Loading dock for food deliveries
