Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Sworn "Armed" Law Enforcement Officer (Cannot be Current City of Omaha police officer) 2. Non-Sworn "Armed" Civilian-Based Officer 3. Non-Sworn "Unarmed" Civilian-Based Officer 4. Marked Security Vehicle Patrol Sworn "Armed" Law Enforcement Officer or Non-Sworn "Armed" Civilian-Based Officer or Non-Sworn "Unarmed" Civilian-Based Officer Description: Dedicated officer patrolling in a marked security vehicle at a City of Omaha recreation facility or roving between facilities to create a mobile and visual deterrent. Security Services Provider personnel must qualified and capable to: Deal with the crucial security and safety issues. Maintain crowd control in and around the pool area, community center, other facility or event area paying close attention to front desk area, fence line, pool deck, locker rooms, gymnasium etc., at all times during assigned shift. Maintain situational awareness of all activities at all times for potential security/safety issues. De-escalate confrontations and situations. Maintain courtesy to all patrons. Routinely check facility, inside and outside for vandalism, etc. Assist in the execution of the Facilities Emergency Action Plan (EAP). Assist staff in the enforcement of pool and or facility rules and regulations. Work competently with onsite facility Supervisor and Pool Coordinator. Call for appropriate back up, as needed and have such backup available. Present a professional image at all times and should not engage in such things as play with patrons, wading in pools, sun bathing, play cards, reading papers, watching TV, talking, texting, emailing, or excessively checking such on their mobile phones, etc. Communicate effectively. Understand oral and written instructions. Have good vision and hearing capabilities. Move about the facility 90% to 100 % of the time. Establish and maintain rapport with the public and staff. Take direction from onsite staff at recreation facilities and pools. Enforce facility rules with tact and professionalism. Recognize problems and remedy them. Provide First Aid if necessary. Stand or walk for an entire eight-hour shift, or longer. Climb stairs, ramps or ladders regularly during a shift. Run or walk briskly as needed.
