Specifications include, but are not limited to: Strategic Planning  Identify short term and long term employee benefit strategies  Advise on trends, best practices and benchmarking of all employee benefit offerings  Analyze the benefit comparability of the CITY’s benefits package  Serve as an advisor on the CITY’s benefits related CITY committees Collective Bargaining  Advise on benefits options for the purpose of collective bargaining negotiations  Prepare cost estimates for both benefits offerings and collective bargaining proposals  Assist the CITY in responding to questions and data requests from the collective bargaining representatives  Participate, if asked, in collective bargaining sessions as CITY’s third-party subject matter expert Group Experience  Serve as liaison with the CITY’s third party administrator or insurer in managing claims and costs  Review and analyze the CITY’s benefits claims experience  Advise on industry best practices to manage claims experience Presentations/Reports  Prepare presentations for management, City Council and Mayor as requested Underwriting/Actuarial Services  Timely develop budget projections
