Specifications include, but are not limited to: Strategic Planning Identify short term and long term employee benefit strategies Advise on trends, best practices and benchmarking of all employee benefit offerings Analyze the benefit comparability of the CITY’s benefits package Serve as an advisor on the CITY’s benefits related CITY committees Collective Bargaining Advise on benefits options for the purpose of collective bargaining negotiations Prepare cost estimates for both benefits offerings and collective bargaining proposals Assist the CITY in responding to questions and data requests from the collective bargaining representatives Participate, if asked, in collective bargaining sessions as CITY’s third-party subject matter expert Group Experience Serve as liaison with the CITY’s third party administrator or insurer in managing claims and costs Review and analyze the CITY’s benefits claims experience Advise on industry best practices to manage claims experience Presentations/Reports Prepare presentations for management, City Council and Mayor as requested Underwriting/Actuarial Services Timely develop budget projections
