Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project includes the removal of existing gas/oil burners, burner control and management systems, and fuel trains from three (3) packaged firetube high pressure steam boilers, and replacing with new Owner-Furnished-Equipment (OFE) consisting of gas/oil burners, boiler master controller and burner control and management systems including startup and training services by equipment suppliers. Contractor will be required to coordinate installation and control interface cabling with burner equipment supplier and Owner’s plant control contractor to integrate new burner and boiler control equipment items and sequence panel programming with State Plant Control system upgrade work provided by Others. a. Work includes miscellaneous general construction, minor modification to mount new burner equipment, any required structural support steel, valves, pipe and fittings, and miscellaneous associated items for a complete and operable steam boiler operation in compliance with the technical specifications for the project. b. Owner will occupy the facility however the Contractor will have access upon notice to proceed unless otherwise directed until project is completed. Removal work shall not commence until new replacement equipment is available for installation as partial steam boiler plant operation is mandatory for the 2020 heating season. A minimum of two (2) steam boilers will be required operational unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by the Owner’s Representative. c. The work generally includes the replacement of the existing burners and fuel trains, miscellaneous electrical and control wiring and conduit and the coordination of integration with the Owners Plant Control integrator under separate contract. d. Contractor will be required to be onsite during startup and training specified for the new OFE burner system including pre-startup test and checkout activities as specified where installation work is provided by this contract. Contractor shall have salvage rights to equipment and miscellaneous construction items designated or required to be removed for the new work identified in the specifications and/or drawings unless otherwise noted in construction documents. All waste materials shall be properly disposed of in accordance with local jurisdictions.
