Specifications include, but are not limited to: The newly-expanded gnotobiotic mouse vivarium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking to purchase a high-efficiency automatic, single chamber, floor loading cage and rack washer configured with two doors for pass through applications. The washer will be pit mounted and flush with one wall. The washer will be a critical piece of equipment for this facility, which maintains mice under strict environmental conditions that prevent contamination of germ-free and other gnotobiotic mice with unwanted bacteria. The cage washer will also include the following features: 1. Chamber dimensions of 48” x 88” x 90” and overall dimensions of 91”x 115” x 96” 2. Wash and rinse solutions will be distributed throughout the wash chamber via 110-degree oscillating arms mounted horizontally along the sidewalls of the chamber; spray jets will also present on the washer ceiling; washer chamber will contain side rails and radius curbs to protect the spray arms 3. Include a microcomputer with a minimum 8” color touchscreen interface monitors that controls all washer cycles and process operations; include a stainless-steel control guard for the monitor 4. All washer components will be non-proprietary and available from local suppliers or the factory 5. Provide a temperature guarantee during all cycle phases 6. Have a stainless-steel cabinet and circulatory system; contain no plastic or rubber connections; include chemical injection ports, contacts and fittings 7. Have an insulated double-walled cabinet that is illuminated 8. Have a stainless-steel perforated floor in lift-up sections 9. Have separate heated and insulated storage tanks for wash and rinse solutions; include automatic tank level controls 10. Have an automatic self-cleaning filter system
