Water Main Replacement from Nebraska Parkway from SOuthwood St. to S. 27th St. Lincoln, NE; The Contractor shall submit a plan for how they intend to sequence the construction, disinfection and flushing on this project, prior to the start of work on this project, and must get approval from the Lincoln Water System and Lincoln Transportation and Utilities representatives prior to doing so. It is suggested that the Contractor progress as follows: 1. Install temporary hydrant on existing main at approximate station 118+77. Remove and construct new water main from station 118+80 to 119+98.50 and temporary hydrant at approximate station 118+81. Flush and disinfect this section then install temporary sleeve connecting new to existing to feed services to the west. 2. Install temporary hydrant on existing main at station 104+00 and temporary water service to businesses at 2105 Nebraska Parkway (Hi-Way Diner) and 2201 Nebraska Parkway (Union Bank). The temporary services may be fed from a temporary above-ground water line connected to the temporary hydrant. 3. Construct new main from station 103+12.53 to 118+77.58. Install temporary hydrant on new main at station 118+77. Test and disinfect this section. 4. Transfer services from the old main to the new main. 5. Perform a shutdown to complete connection of the new main with two (2) 45° bends at stations 118+77 and 118+81. 6. Isolate the existing main, remove fittings and abandon the old main where called for on the plans, if not already completed.
