Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 The City of Omaha is seeking bids for five (5) Insulated hot boxes built on a hook frame; 2.0 Hopper Construction: 2.1 Box capacity must be able to hold 4 ton of asphalt; 2.2 Box must be built with a minimum 10 gauge steel; 2.3 Box must be a minimum of double wall construction; 2.4 Walls must be of one piece, seamless steel construction; 2.5 Walls and front panel must be sloped; 3.0 Hopper Doors: 3.1 One piece steel loading doors are framed on square tubing with angle iron reinforced cross members.; 3.2 The area inside the doors must be filled with insulation; 3.3 Doors are hinged to the hopper corners with bolt on 1 ¼ diameter 4 bolt pillow block bearings.; 3.4 Two hydraulic cylinders with 2.5” bore, 1.5” rod and a 16” stroke; 3.5 Loading doors are one piece with two equal-size sections hinged and covered with a neoprene guard; 4.0 Hopper Hydraulic Controls and Wiring: 4.1 Levers on curbside spool valve controls movement of loading doors ( raise and hold to open, lower and hold to close); 4.2 Lever on the curbside spool valve controls movement of material door ( raise and hold to open, lower and hold to close); 4.3 Hopper wiring to be 7-pin flat RV; 4.4 All wires are to be copper and color coded.; 4.5 Wiring connections to be soldered and sealed in shrink wrap. Then covered in high temperature corrugated loom. ; 5.0 Paint: 5.1 Exterior paint must be Omaha Orange; 5.2 Two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of urethane finish are applied to all parts and entire unit.; 5.3 Entire unit, including all bolt and parts, are to be blasted prior to painting.; 5.4 All accessory bolt on parts are to be painted prior to assembly to chassis.; 5.5 Non Steel parts are not painted. These parts are installed after the paint process is completed.
