MOWING SCHEDULE-AREAS The turf areas shall be mowed and trimmed as scheduled and approved by the City of Omaha. The intent of this contract is to provide 12 complete mowing of the contracted areas per year beginning in April and ending in October. This mowing will be completed in 12 mowing cycles. The City of Omaha reserves the right to add or subtract mows from this schedule and to adjust the numbers of mows performed per month. All mowing and trimming must be completed in the area before the next scheduled mow cycle to receive full payment for that area. Cycle 1 starts April 15 and ends April 30. Cycle 2 begins May 1 and ends May 15. Cycle 3 begins May 16 and ends May 31. Cycle 4 begins June 1 and ends June 15. Cycle 5 begins June 16 and ends June 30. Cycle 6 begins July 1 and ends July 15. Cycle 7 begins July 16 and ends July 31. Cycle 8 begins August 1 and ends August 15. Cycle 9 begins August 16 and ends August 31. Cycle 10 begins September 1 and ends September 15. Cycle 11 begins September 16 and ends September 30. Cycle 12 begins on October 15 and ends October 31. No additional time is allowed in a cycle for weather delays. If the contractor fails to complete all the mowing and trimming in the time period described, the contractor shall be paid for the work completed but not unfinished work as described in the payment section of this document. Any keys that were not completed by the end of the cycle shall be the first locations that are completed at the beginning of the next cycle. BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL SCHEDULE-AREAS The turf area shall be sprayed as scheduled and approved by the City of Omaha. The City of Omaha reserves the right to add or subtract broadleaf weed control sprays from this schedule. The contractor will provide 2 complete broadleaf weed control sprays per year. The first spray shall start no sooner than May 1 and be completed by May 31 of that calendar year or before ambient daytime temperatures reach 85 degrees Fahrenheit or above. These areas will be inspected. If there are no signs of weeds being dead or in a state of dying one week after the application of weed control, you will be asked to respray the areas. If the first spraying is not completed by the deadline for the first application, a penalty of 10% of the value of each key that was not completed by the deadline listed above will be assessed. The second spray shall begin no sooner than September 1 and be completed by October 15 of that calendar year. If the temperatures drop below freezing causing a hard freeze before October 15th, all spraying activity will stop and the contractor will be paid for work that was completed per the payment section of this agreement. MOWING AND TRIMMING SPECIFICATION-AREAS All mechanical mowers shall be maintained to provide a clean and uniform cut. Mowing blades shall be kept sharp and mowing speed shall be adjusted to maintain a uniform cut leaving the grass at the height of 3 inches tall. All kick-out doors of the mowers shall face away from the street. All streets and concrete shall be kept clean and free from clippings. All areas that cannot be mowed by mechanical mowers shall be mechanically trimmed leaving the areas in a neat and well-kept condition. Mechanically trimmed areas include but are not limited to grass and weeds around or along sign poles, barricade posts, street or traffic light bases, utility boxes, both sides of guard rails, culverts, inlets, rocks, landscaped areas, planted areas, trees, retaining walls and fence lines. Chemical trimming may only be used on flat and level surfaces, around the following items such as; sign poles, barricade posts, street or traffic light bases, utility boxes, both sides of and under guard rails, sidewalk cracks/joints, island curbs and mowing strip pavers. Chemical trimming may only be used with approval from the City. Contractors must provide the City with 6 specific locations of the areas the contractor would like to chemically trim. This must be done before any applications can be made. A maximum 2 inches wide band on flat and level surfaces will be allowed around sign poles, barricade posts, street or traffic light bases, utility boxes, both sides of and under guard rails may be applied around or along areas where mechanical trimming would take place. If chemical trimming is used it will be done at no additional charge to the City of Omaha and re-applied as needed to maintain area in a neat and well-kept condition. Chemical trimming is not allowed along fence lines, retaining walls, around trees, landscaped/planted areas.
