Specifications include, but are not limited to: LAWN SPRINKLER SYSTEMS The Contractor shall locate, flag, and protect, existing lawn sprinkler systems located within the project area. This work shall not be paid for directly and shall be considered subsidiary to other items for which direct payment is made.; When a lawn sprinkler system is damaged due to negligence by the Contractor, it shall be repaired at the expense of the Contractor.; When a lawn sprinkler system needs to be replaced, relocated or adjusted in order to complete the Work, it shall be approved by the Engineer and paid as an ‘Extra Work Item’; TREE CLEARING The majority of required tree clearing has been performed outside of this project. Some minor clearing and grubbing may still be required and coordinated with the Owner. Tree clearing is prohibited during the period between March 31 and August 31 unless approved by a qualified biologist and the Project Manager. If additional trees are to be cleared during the prohibited period, field surveys for nesting birds along with information regarding the qualifications of the biologist performing the surveys shall be thoroughly documented and maintained on file by the Contractor until completion of the project. Migratory bird surveys and compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act will not be paid for directly and shall be considered subsidiary to other items for which direct payment is made. ; INSTALL AND REMOVE TEMPORARY HYDRANT AND BLOWOFF Where shown on the plans, this bid item includes all work for the temporary hydrant & blowoff per standard specifications and removal of it as well.; SALVAGE GRAVEL & PLACE SALVAGED GRAVEL Where shown on the plans, the Contractor shall remove and salvage gravel. Gravel required for the “Place Salvaged Gravel” shall be stockpiled for reuse and compacted and placed at the same thickness as existing gravel.; WATER MAIN PIPE, RESTRAINED JOINT PIPE Bid item for Water Main Pipe, Restrained Joint Pipe, shall meet all requirements of Chapters 20 and 23 of the City of Lincoln Standard Specifications.; ABANDONMENT OF WATER MAIN Bid item for Abandonment of Water Main includes abandonment of all water valves within the area of abandonment. See City of Lincoln Specifications for requirements of abandonment. Existing mains cannot be abandoned until after all existing services are transferred to the proposed water main.
