LES will provide project benchmark and establish substation centerlines. The Contractor is responsible for all measurements and offsets for the project. 3.2 Tolerances 3.2.1 The centerline location of the foundation shall be within 2 inches of the specified location. 3.2.2 Out-of-plumbness shall not exceed 2% of the drilled pier length. 3.2.3 The elevation shall be within ¼ inch of specified elevation. 3.2.4 The bottom slope of the drilled pier excavation shall not exceed 1 vertical to 12 horizontal. 3.2.5 The drilled pier shaft diameter shall be as shown on the project drawings. 3.2.6 Anchor bolt center-to-center spacing shall be within 1/16” of the specified location. 3.2.7 The center of the anchor bolt group shall be within ¼” of the specified location. 3.2.8 Each anchor bolt shall be within 1/8” plumb for the full exposed length. 3.2.9 Concrete pad(s) shall be level with no high or low spots exceeding 1/16” 3.3 Excavation 3.3.1 The Contractor shall: 3.3.1.1 Excavate by hand where space, access, or existing utilities will not permit the use of machines. 3.3.1.2 Remove loose material and free water from bottom of excavations. 3.3.1.3 Keep all excavated materials an acceptable distance away from each open excavation. 3.3.2 Contractor may stockpile clean fill material suitable for re-use where directed by LES. 3.3.3 Excess and unsuitable fill material shall be hauled from site by the Contractor at no additional expense to LES. 3.4 Reinforcing Steel 3.4.1 Reinforcement shall be free of mud, oil, other surface contamination, and excessive corrosion at the time of concrete placement. 3.4.2 Place steel reinforcement according to project drawings and in accordance with ACI 318 and Manual of Standard Practice of CRSI....
