Specifications include, but are not limited to: PREPARATION OF BRIDGE AT STA. 12+99.64: Item includes all work including but not limited to saw cutting and removing existing concrete slope protection as shown in the plans; excavation; storing, backfill, and compaction of soil at the locations of new bent footings; filling open holes from utility potholing around the location of the new Bent 1; any ditch cleanout necessary to promote drainage of the new concrete slope protection; and any other activities that are not paid for directly or specifically called out as subsidiary to another pay item. Payment for PREPARATION OF BRIDGE AT STA. 12+99.64 shall be paid for at the Contractor’s unit prices for each. Payment shall be full compensation for labor, tools, equipment, materials, and all other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Provisions.; CLASS 47B-3000 CONCRETE FOR BRIDGE: Item includes all work necessary to provide concrete for the bent footings and column shafts. Payment for CLASS 47B-3000 CONCRETE FOR BRIDGE shall be paid for at the Contractor’s unit price for cubic yards. Payment shall be full compensation for labor, tools, equipment, materials, formwork, and all other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Provisions.; REINFORCING STEEL: Item includes all work necessary to provide steel for the bent footings and column shafts. Payment for REINFORCING STEEL shall be paid for at the Contractor’s unit price for pounds. Payment shall be full compensation for labor, tools, equipment, materials, and all other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Provisions.; STRUCTURAL STEEL FOR SUBSTRUCTURE: Item includes all work necessary to provide structural steel for construction of the new bents. Payment for STRUCTURAL STEEL FOR SUBSTRUCTURE shall be paid for at the Contractor’s unit price for pounds. Payment shall be full compensation for labor, tools, equipment, materials, and all other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Provisions.; FIXED BEARING: 1. Fixed Bearings a. The upper assembly shall consist of the elastomeric bearing pad. The elastomeric bearing pad shall use elastomer that is Grade 2 or higher, as defined in the current AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, crystallization resistant, 100% virgin polychloroprene (neoprene). Use only new materials; reclaimed material is not allowed in the finished product. No wax, anti-ozonants, or other foreign material may accumulate or be applied to the surfaces of the bearing.; b. Plain pads shall be either molded, extruded, or vulcanized in large sheets and cut to size. Cutting shall not heat the material and shall produce a smooth finish conforming to ANSI B46.1, 6.3 μm (0.248 mils). Plain pads shall be molded or extruded to the finished thickness. Plying pads of lesser thickness together shall not be permitted.; c. The lower assembly shall consist of the bearing plate with retainer. The bearing plate shall be supported by shim plates, as necessary to provide for the correct elevation.; CONCRETE PATCHING: tem includes all work necessary to sawcut, remove as specified, install reinforcement and anchorages, and replace existing surfacing with concrete patching. Payment for CONCRETE PATCHING shall be paid for at the Contractor’s unit price for square feet. Payment shall be full compensation for labor, tools, equipment, materials, and all other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Provisions.; 1. This work shall consist of restoring existing structures with unsound, spalled and/or deteriorated concrete to its original limits.; 2. Typical applications for Concrete Patching include (but not limited to) the following locations: a. Substructure repairs to: faces of concrete caps, girder seats, piers, and wingwalls.; b. Superstructure repairs to: concrete barriers and concrete bridge rails (except for major damage due to a collision), medians, and edges of concrete bridge decks.; 3. Concrete patching shall be performed at locations indicated on the plans and/or as directed by the Engineer. If additional areas are found during removal, the Contractor shall notify the Engineer immediately.
