Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Norwalk's Department of Public Works is seeking a contractor to transport yard waste, daily, from the City's yard waste site to Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (CTDEP) permitted composting facilities. Yard waste includes: leaves, brush (which includes Christmas trees), limbs, grass clippings, wood chips - loose and/or in paper leaf bags, and logs and stumps greater than 6 inches in diameter. Yard waste is separated accordingly: leaves and brush (yard waste), woodchips, and logs and stumps. The City will load the contractor's trailers, Monday through Friday (possible Saturdays - in emergency situations), at the Yard Waste Site located at 15 South Smith Street. Trailers will be loaded no earlier than 7:30 am and no later than 2:30 pm. The City provides bi-weekly curbside pickup of yard waste for residents from April until December. The space allotted for staging the material is minimal, so under no circumstances will trailers be dropped and left overnight on the site.
