Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Montana, Department of Public Health and Human Services, is seeking a contractor to provide short and long term follow-up metabolic conditions identified through newborn screening. There are approximately 12,000 births per year in Montana. Short-term follow-up commences at the time an outof-range result is detected and ends at diagnosis. This includes assurance that the family and Primary Care Provider (PCP) have been notified of diagnosis and treatment options available, and the state public health laboratory has been notified of the diagnosis.Long-term follow-up services begin after diagnosis and continue for the duration of the patient’s life, as needed depending on the condition.
