Work will be assigned through individual task orders, on an as-needed basis, covering subject matter including, but not necessarily limited to: General counsel and legal advice concerning laws pertaining to Montana water law and adjudication of Board ownership of water rights before the Montana Water Court; Legal representation in Montana Water Court Cases involving water rights appurtenant to State Trust Land; Legal research regarding adjudication of the State’s interest in water rights appurtenant to State Trust Land.; Memorandums, recommendations and/or summaries regarding laws pertaining to the adjudication of water rights appurtenant to State Trust Land; and Notification of the Board, and DNRC, as agent of the Board, of any potential conflicts of interest that may arise from any work performed. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, professional standards of conduct and ethics, and any standards established by the Board. All work will be assigned by Task Order, with each Task order defining the specific scope, timeline, and estimated budget. The Board reserves the right to modify Task Orders, add new Task Orders as its needs evolve, or terminate Task Orders, as required.
