The determination of this Sole Source purchase is based on the following requirements: Description of Service or Product required: The Montana State University Spectrum Lab is looking to purchase a network traffic generator for emulation of data in hybrid quantum network. Specifications: A rackmounted traffic generation and bit error rate testing system with at least 11 independent operating ports: -Required to test 10 optical O-band transceivers and one optical 850 nm transceiver at the same time. -The system must support QSFP-DD transceiver standards operating at 400Gbps without requiring other ports to be disabled/aggregated: This is required to support the operation of high-speed short haul transceivers operating at 400Gbps while also ensuring the operation of other 100Gbps transceivers in the network are unaffected. -Must have CMIS 5.0/SFF-8636 control: Required to edit the register information of the transceivers and adjust transmit/receive characteristics. -Must have RS-FEC capability: Required to support higher data rate transceivers which utilize forward error correction...
