SF 179 Eagle Pass Trail Safety: MDT initiated a safety project (UPN 9614001) to address an identified crash trend at the intersection of US-93 and Eagle Pass Trail. The project will construct a designated left-turn bay to the north of the Eagle Pass Trail intersection, and a two-way left-turn lane to the south of the intersection. The current project limits run from RP 40.8 to 41.4. This project is funded in part by the HSIP program. US-93 Wildlife Overpass: The UPN 10567000 project will construct a wildlife overpass spanning US-93, including the associated roadway improvements necessary to provide safer passage for both humans and wildlife. The project limits as defined in the grant application are RP 41.2 to 41.6. Conceptual plans for the wildlife crossing structure indicate that this facility may be best located near RP 41.5. This project is funded by a WCPP grant. US-93 North Ninepipe: The North Ninepipe project (UPN 10568000) will reconstruct a 2.9-mile segment of US Highway 93. The NAE grant application identified the project limits as RP 41.6 to 44.5. Based on the Feasibility Study completed in 2023, Option C-3 was identified as the preferred option for advancement. That alternative includes a widened roadway typical section with improved roadside safety features, a shared use path, three new bridges, and other necessary drainage and wildlife accommodation features.
