Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Missoula Police Department is seeking the services of an experienced consulting firm to guide the Missoula Police Department as it updates its technology infrastructure. This project is made possible by funding from U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS). The goal of the project is to improve the communications and technology efficiency for our Missoula Police Headquarters. A centerpiece of the project is to upgrade technologies used by our field operations to enhance our crime prevention and community policing strategies. Additionally, upgrades to some system technologies and facility security at headquarters need to be conducted to protect our criminal justice information. This multi-pronged project includes: Upgrading video cameras and mobile data terminals (now to become mobile data computers) in patrol cars to provide real-time video to the Missoula Police Headquarters and wireless downloading of all patrol car videos to the police department servers. Upgrading systems to include a point-to-point wireless system meeting specifications consistent with the current City of Missoula s CISCO network architecture and capable of uploading video from patrol cars without user input.. The purchase of a mobile video trailer and related technology to allow us to provide wireless video feed from high-crash areas and high-crime areas to the Missoula Police Headquarters and to enable us to mitigate these areas and assist us in curbing/mitigating crimes and crashes. This technology will also assist us during certain incidents (SWAT, natural disasters, crisis, etc.) and enable incident commanders and command staff to review and assess various situations and make command decisions. Security upgrades to our headquarters facility and technological systems will assist us in protecting our criminal justice information. This includes intrusion software for City of Missoula and security enhancements in the physical location of the Missoula Police Department. The entrances should be controlled with proximity cards and video monitoring. Using information supplied by the Police Department, the successful Vendor will be required to assist the Missoula Police Department in developing specifications, soliciting bids, evaluating vendors responses and assisting in the implementation in all phases of this project
