Effective community wildfire resilience recognizes fire as an inevitable force and actively integrates fire adaptation strategies to protect both people and the environment. With its deep history of fire coexistence and wealth of scientific and technological resources related to wildfire, Missoula County has a unique opportunity to redefine wildfire resilience through strong local collaboration and forward-thinking policies. Missoula County is seeking proposals from consultants interested in engaging in one or more of the project elements associated with the 18 to 24-month public planning process and development of an updated Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) with a goal of reframing the wildfire challenge and associated solutions to one that has increased emphasis on community wildfire resilience. The estimated total budget for this project is $250,000. Of that total $25,000 is currently budgeted for project supplies such as printing of publication and outreach materials, printing maps and posters, postcard mailings, advertising, meeting supplies such as refreshments, flip charts, easels, markers, etc. There may be options for budget modification
