SFQ-20070706 Road Signs - Roadway Sign improvements

Summary of Specifications:
Through this Solicitation for Quotes (SFQ), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit quotes for the purpose of contracting for the design and improvement of roadway signs at Detroit Metro Airport. The guide signs located along southbound Dingell Drive leading to westbound Eureka Road and Interstate 275 may be confusing to drivers. Drivers may believe they are entering I-275 when they are actually on Eureka Road, and therefore exceeding the speed limit. Eight (8) signs will be improved with “new overlay” text; however, replacement signs may be necessary to accommodate the new message. Two (2) new signs will be installed with posts. The project described below is the initial project the Authority is planning to complete. The Authority reserves the right to make additional purchases for similar type projects and/or services under the resulting contract over the next two (2) years based upon the needs of the Authority and availability of funds.
