Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit proposals to provide all labor, materials, and related equipment to provide pavement joint repair and rehabilitation services on designated areas of the runways and taxiways on the Air Operations Area (AOA) at Detroit Metro Airport and Willow Run Airport. Under Part 139 of the Code of Federal Regulations, the Airport Authority is mandated to properly maintain all pavement areas of the Air Operations Area (AOA). One aspect of this maintenance requirement includes joint cleaning and sealing. The original contract for this service has expired and the Airport Authority is seeking a new contract to continue this service without interruption during the optimum application season. The benefit of this service is to increase the life span of AOA pavement. There are currently six (6) runways and approximately 22 taxiways that will be covered under this agreement. The AOA consists of approximately 20,000,000 sq ft. of pavement. The transverse and trans longitudinal joints vary from ½” to 1 ½”. The work areas will vary in size. Some work areas may encompass an entire runway, while others may only consist of a portion of a taxiway.
