Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids to provide maintenance services on the overhead doors at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Willow Run Airport.
The Airport Authority is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Wayne County Airport Authority. As such, the Maintenance Division requires to contract with a company to provide for the preventative and corrective maintenance of overhead doors.
This resulting contract will provide for scheduled preventative maintenance and non-scheduled corrective maintenance on an as-needed basis at eight buildings housing 82 overhead doors located at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Currently, these locations include three Fire Stations, four Maintenance Buildings; and a Police Building.
Additionally, Willow Run Airport requires maintenance for five locations housing 16 overhead doors at Willow Run Airport, however, only 6 overhead doors (at 2 locations) will require preventative maintenance, while all locations will require non-scheduled corrective maintenance on an as-needed basis. At this time, Willow Run locations include: Hangar 2, Electrical Vault, Fire Station 700, Skilled Trades Building, and Maintenance Building #2620. Preventive door maintenance consists of monthly inspections, testing, cleaning, adjusting and lubrication of all moving parts including chains, tracks, rollers, and springs. Typically, the need for replacement parts is discovered during the course of inspections. Non-scheduled corrective maintenance includes routine repairs as well as 24-hour, 7-days a week emergency repair service with a two-hour response time. All repairs must be preauthorized by the Airport Authority.
