Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bid (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids to for services to inspect and provide as needed reconditioning and repairs to an electrical substation at Detroit Metro Airport.
The Airport Authority is the electrical service provider for air carriers and other tenants at Detroit Metro Airport. The substation is located between building 513 and 515 near Detroit Metro Airport’s north entrance (adjacent to Fire Station 200 and the former Post Office), and is connected within the medium voltage electrical infrastructure. Due to the age of this substation, the Airport Authority has determined it is necessary to evaluate to determine the extent of the reconditioning and replacement necessary for the substation and components including the switches, circuit breakers, transformers, fuses, bus work, etc.
This substation provides incoming 4.8 kV electrical service building 513, Fire Station 200 (building 515), and tenant space in an adjacent parking lot. As part of Detroit Metro Airport’s primary distribution loop, it also is properly fused for system protection.
