Summary of Specifications:
INTRODUCTION: Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit Bids to provide labor, chemicals, testing, testing reagents, evaluations and technical support to treat the heating and cooling systems at the Detroit Metro Airport. GENERAL INFORMATION: The Power Plant and associated Field buildings utilize boilers, hot water generation equipment, chillers, and condensers for heating and cooling purposes. Proper testing, analysis and treatment of these systems are critical in the maintenance and longevity of these systems. Therefore, the Airport Authority is seeking qualified and experienced Bidders that are capable of providing comprehensive water management and treatment services of these systems at the Detroit Metro Airport. This specification covers all the chemicals that are used for water treatment as listed below. Chemicals are to be provided for: 1) Chilled water closed loop; 2) North Power Plant (B611) boilers; 3) One (1) Field Boiler; 4) Field Hot Water Heating closed loops. Additional services include annual disinfection of five (5) cooling towers at the North Power Plant (B611). Conformance to all items in this solicitation will be the responsibility of the Bidder. It is the goal of the Airport Authority to establish performance criteria that are necessary for a successful water management and treatment program.
