RFB-S08-170 Cable Testing (Phase I) - Cable Testing (Phase I) at Detroit Metro Wayne County Airport

Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Bids (RFB), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids to test Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport’s (Metro Airport) 4,800 volt primary service cables (Phase I). The Airport Authority is in the process of evaluating and assessing conditions of its Medium Voltage Distribution System at Metro Airport. Because of the age and critical service of our electrical cables, nondestructive technology (relative to traditional high voltage methods e.g. megger/HI-POT) must be employed. At this time the Airport Authority anticipates that Phase I shall cover the incremental testing and evaluation of primary cable that is typically 3-wire in configuration and at least 250 kcmil in size. The expected total distance of cable sections to be tested is approximately 10,000 ft. Testing of additional cable may be required at a later date, but will not be included as part of Phase I. If cable testing is required, bids will be solicited as a separate phase.
