Summary of Specifications:
Through this RFB, the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit bids to provide construction services to modernize the existing elevators and moving walkways in the Blue Deck Parking Structure at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (Airport).
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Airport Authority seeks qualified, experienced elevator and walkway contractors to provide modernization of the Blue Deck Parking Structure equipment. The Blue Deck consists of an ‘East deck’ with six (6) levels of parking that was completed in 1990, and a ‘West deck’ with four levels of parking that was completed in 1993. The East and West decks are connected by a six level speed ramp (‘flyover’) that was built with the West deck. Refer to the Equipment Location Diagram in Attachment D, and Current Equipment Outline in Attachment E. a) Existing Elevators: There are a total of six (6) existing elevators in the Blue Deck Parking Structure. i) The East deck has one pair of Otis elevators located in Tower C that run in a side-by-side duplex system, with AC controls, that serve all six levels. ii) The West deck has three (3) pairs of elevator shafts containing a total of four (4) Montgomery elevators with DC controls that serve the four levels of the West deck. Tower H at the South end of the Blue Deck, and Tower J located on the West side of the Deck each have one active elevator, and one vacant shaft that was originally built for future elevator installation. Tower K, located the furthest North in the West Deck, has two active elevators that run in a side-by-side duplex system. b) Moving Walkways: The West deck also has a total of eight moving walkways located in conditioned enclosures on the fourth level.
