Summary of Specifications:
Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), the Wayne County Airport Authority (Airport Authority) hereby invites businesses that meet the qualifications set forth herein to submit proposals for Back-up Water Operator at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (Airport). A “business” that proposes may be an individual, firm, vendor, association, corporation, limited liability company, partnership, joint venture, sole proprietorship, or other legal entity.
Pursuant to the Michigan Safe Water Drinking Act, Public Act 399 of 1976, as amended, and the applicable administrative rules, being R325.11901-R325.11918, (“Part 19”), a “Water System Owners” is required to have a licensed water operator and a back-up.
The Airport Authority has a primary full time employed water operator on staff. A back-up water operator is required for scheduled, nonscheduled, and emergency response. The Airport Authority is seeking qualified personnel to serve as a back up water operator to the Airport Authority’s water operator who generally works Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The back up water operator will be available for both scheduled and unscheduled services. The backup water operator will be required to fill in when the Airport Authority’s water operator is not available, or when additional assistance is needed if circumstances require additional personnel.
