7666 - Rolling Hills Waterpark Lazy River Repairs

WCPARC needs to repair and reconstruct several elements in the Rolling Hills County Park – Waterpark Lazy River Pool. Work under this contract will be conducted in two phases with separate deadlines of completion for each. The first phase (Scope “A” below) must be fully operational by 5:00pm Friday, May 3, 2019. Work covered in scope “B” shall begin at facility closure early September 2019 and be complete for use Friday, May 1, 2020.
            Scope “A”

1. Replace all three Layne Bowler Pump/Motor/Turbines in Propulsion Pits #1 and #2.  This involves removal and disposal of existing pumps/motor turbines/columns, supply, installation, and start-up/testing of three new Layne Bowler Pump/Motor Turbines each with Variable Frequency Drives as specified in the Proposal section.  The work includes obtaining any required permits, confined space entry plan, retrofitting existing site conditions to accommodate the new equipment, and training of facility staff on equipment operation.

1. This phase will also include replacement of all Bray valves and flanges in Lazy River Surge Tank and Propulsion Pits #1 and #2.  Repair or replace YMCA valves located in Lazy River surge tank.  Provide all equipment, materials, labor and supervision to perform removal and installation of three 16“ and two 12” Bray valves with flanges and any YMCA valves needing replacement.

1. This work will include full removal and replacement of all cementitous/”plaster” surfaces in the Lazy River pool including zero depth and stair areas.  Additionally, structural repairs are needed to address the deterioration of pool walls in limited locations, entry stairs, ramp entry drain, and the connection between wall and concrete deck.  Where designated, the existing coping concrete will be removed and replaced with an entirely new design of cast-in-place concrete coping with a stegmeier edge treatment. New 6” x 6” tile courses will be installed in three horizontal rows below the coping around all walls throughout the pool.
