Summary of Specifications:
Oakland County Purchasing Division is requesting SEALED proposals on behalf of Oakland County Facilities Maintenance Grounds Division for snow removal services for the Oakland County Health Division Southfield Office and the South Oakland Office Building in Troy. All questions should be submitted in writing via e-mail to Ed Tucker at tuckere@oakgov.com no later than Tuesday October 26, 2010. Answers will be posted on the Michigan Inter-Governmental Trade Network (MITN) website in the form of an addendum. SCOPE OF WORK: Provide snow plowing services for the locations listed below. Per “push” at each of the following sites for 1.5” – 6” and 6” – 10” snowfall depths. Pushing and/or removal of snow in excess of 10” average depth will be negotiated on an hourly or by-the-job basis. Weekday work must be done between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. Shoveling of pedestrian entryways, “fire doors,” and walks not accessible to plow vehicles is to be included in the per “push” unit price. In the event that the site does not provide adequate space to pile or push accumulations of snow, contractor may be requested to provide loading and trucking services. The contractor shall assume responsibility for the repair of any damage occurring as a result of plowing operations, including concrete curbs, landscaped areas, or other site features. Plowing will commence upon accumulation of 1.5 inches of snow. When snowfall occurs during the evening hours or overnight, all lots are to be cleared of snow by 7 a.m. or time determined by site’s management. If additional accumulation exceeds 2 inches, then a follow-up plowing must take place within 8 hours of the first plowing but prior to 7 a.m. the following day.
