Summary of Specifications:
Oakland County Purchasing Division is accepting Sealed Bids for a blanket contract to provide food and related supplies, and personal care items for Oakland County Children’s Village. The village is a residential treatment facility for 240 youth. Located on 50 acres, the facility houses children and youth in 8 separate buildings, and the base kitchen is located in a 9th building.
Items will be ordered on an “as needed” basis or scheduled delivery as required. Estimated quantities are annual and subject to change.
REQUIREMENTS:
Food and Related Supplies • Food and related supplies must be delivered once weekly and brought into the base kitchen building by 9:00 AM. • Milk must be delivered daily (5 days per week) by 6:30 A.M. to each of the 9 buildings, Mondays through Fridays. Milk must be brought into the base kitchen building and into the Sally Port of J. Building (large, 80-bed building.) Milk may be left outside the remaining buildings’ kitchen entry doors. • For Saturdays and Sundays’ resident milk needs, that milk supply must be delivered and brought into the base kitchen building with the Friday morning milk delivery. • Supplemental dairy products must be delivered by 6:30 AM to the base kitchen building. • 100% juice and 100% cheese products are required. • If any regularly scheduled delivery is not possible, a back-up-plan must be in place to provide the required food items. • Pricing for certain food products may be based on monthly Consumer Price Index figures for the respective region and current documentation must be submitted monthly to the Purchasing Division prior to any price changes. • Credit must be given for any items delivered in error, spoiled, or in damaged containers (dented cans or torn cereal packages as examples). • Next day delivery for special circumstances by 3:00 PM is a required option.
Personal Care Items •Personal care items must be delivered once monthly and brought into each of the 9 buildings, and a facility staff signature must be obtained. • Delivery staff must obtain access to secure buildings’ lobbies by pressing outside buzzer and speaking with Control Room Operator. Buzzer attached to each of the 3 secure buildings. • Credit must be given for any items delivered in error, or in damaged containers (broken boxes filled with leaking containers as an example).
