The City of Grand Rapids desires the establishment of a one-year term contract with two, one-year renewal options for refuse, yard waste, and recycling dumpster/roll off service, as per the specifications contained herein. The City reserves the right to award to multiple Contractors as it deems in its own best interests to do so. All services provided shall meet or exceed industry standards.

Section I: Dumpster Service:
The service shall include, furnishing refuse and/or yard waste containers, collection, and transportation of refuse and/or yard waste as scheduled by the individual City departments. Landfill/incinerator tipping fees and/or composting fees shall be included in the price for dumpsters.

Section II: Recycling Service:
All containers shall be provided by the contractor. The City shall be responsible to get materials picked up from the facilities and put into the containers. The program shall include all materials typically generated in an office setting such as materials typically generated in an office setting such as paper, plastic, glass, metal, and cartons. The City requires at a minimum that paper/mixed paper including paperboard and cardboard, glass and rigid plastics be accepted for recycling purposes. Section III: Roll Off Service:
The service shall include, furnishing refuse and/or yard waste containers, collection and transportation of refuse and/or yard waste as scheduled by the individual City departments. Landfill/incinerator tipping fees and/or composting fees shall be invoiced for the actual tipping/composting fees at the cost contained herein.

Section IV: Neighborhood Cleanups:
The City of Grand Rapids neighborhood cleanup program includes approximately twenty-seven (27) neighborhood cleanups each year in cooperation with the City’s neighborhood associations located throughout the City. These neighborhood cleanups are typically scheduled on Saturdays, July through October, with two or three cleanups scheduled in April. Neighborhood cleanups normally begin at 8:00 a.m. and end by 12:00 p.m. (noon).
