Scope of Work:
The City of Grand Rapids desires a one-year contract, with two, one-year renewal options to provide “as needed” machining and fabricating shop services for the City’s Water Department, as per the specifications contained herein. The City desires services from local Contractors (defined as companies not more than 60-miles from downtown Grand Rapids). The City reserves the right to award one contract or multiple contracts for these services, as it deems in its own best interest.

Requirements of Work:
Contractor shall maintain staff necessary to perform the work. Efficient and effective communications with authorized city personnel is essential.
The Contractor shall warrant services and materials provided and utilized during performance are free from defects in material and workmanship.
Simple engineering and design, cost reduction suggestions and cost-effective alternatives/recommendations when requested by the City shall be considered a part of the work; Contractor shall provide these services at no charge to the City.
No costs shall be incurred or allowed under this contract for any engineering services.
It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to provide a fully functional system fit for the intended use by the City. Depending on the complexity of the project the City reserves the right to request detailed engineering drawings.
All drawings or patterns that may result shall become the property of the City.
The City reserves the right to x-ray, ultrasonically test, or inspect with magnetic particles any or all welds made at the City's expense. However, if any welds are found defective, the Contractor shall incur the cost of complete inspection and repair to those defective areas as
well as the cost of re-inspection.
The Contractor shall pick up and deliver equipment and parts when requested by the City. If convenient, the City may deliver/pickup equipment and parts.
The Contractor shall visit the machinery/equipment site, when requested by the City, to inspect and review the needed repair. Contractor shall provide these services at no charge to the City.
