Trail of Two Cities Pathway Connector Project

Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Beaverton, 128 Saginaw Street, Beaverton, MI 48612,
until 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025, and then publicly opened for work including the following
estimated quantities and appurtenances:
• Boardwalk – 228 LF
• 6’ Trail – 973 LF
• Drainage Improvements
• Pedestrian Signage
There will be a non-mandatory Pre-Bid meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025, beginning at
11:00 a.m. at City Hall, 128 Saginaw Street, Beaverton, Michigan 48612.
Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond in the amount of 5% of the bid.
Checks shall be drawn payable to the City of Beaverton as security for the acceptance of the Contract and
subject to the conditions stated in the Instructions to Bidders. The City Council reserves the right to accept
or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or errors in the bidding process, and to accept any bid
deemed to be in the best interest of the city, including bids that are not for the lowest amount. The City will
first give all due consideration to bids from Contractors that are familiar with the City’s infrastructure & park
system, experienced with the City’s standards and overall process, and that are local to the Greater Gladwin
County Region.
Plans, proposals, and specifications prepared by MLR Engineering, 134 S. Main Street, Suite #1, Freeland,
MI 48623 (ben@mlrengineering.com, 989-692-5034, Ext. 744) for this project are available electronically for
no additional cost or may be purchased by qualified bidders at an additional cost, beginning at 1:00 p.m.,
August 29, 2025.
The contractor and all subcontractors must comply with all requirements of 1976 PA 453 (Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights
Act), the 1976 PA 220 (Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act) and Executive Directive 2019-09, as amended. In
accordance with these laws, all contracts the grantee enters into must contain a covenant by the contractor and any
subcontractors not to discriminate against an employee or applicant for employment with respect to hire, tenure, terms,
conditions or privileges of employment, or a matter directly or indirectly related to employment, because of race, color,
religion, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, marital status, partisan considerations, or a disability or genetic
