The primary goal of the unit disassembly is to separate the major components of the machine, including the generator and gearbox, and disassemble these components to the extent required for a visual inspection of the damaged bearings and other components which may be contributing to the vibration issues. Upon completion of the disassembly scope, one engineer from Kleinschmidt and an engineer from the City’s insurance company will visit the site to perform the visual inspection and help determine next steps for repair of the unit.
