RFP-RH-08-037 - UV Window Protection For Historic Van Hoosen Farm Buildings

Summary of Specifications:
City of Rochester Hills (hereinafter referred to as City) is requesting proposals from experience and qualified companies for the purchase and installation of UV Window Protection for Historic Van Hoosen Farm Buildings. The City desires a solution for window protection to prevent the damaging effects of UV light to historical structures and artifacts located in the Rochester Hills Museum buildings at Van Hoosen Farm. It is desired that the window protection be as inconspicuous as possible, in order to maintain the aesthetics and historical character of the structures. The least amount of tint or shine, providing a natural look, would be preferred. The City does not have a preference on the placement of the window protection on either the inside or outside. To avoid the possibility of window breakage and wear and tear on the buildings, the recommended solution shall be long lasting, carrying a warranty of at least 8 to 10 years over its useful life. It is the City’s intent to obtain the installation of UV protection with ultimate blockage of infra red heat and 99.9% ultra violet light. The ultimate blockage shall be maintained without decrease in protection for a minimum period of 8 to 10 years. The film protection shall adhere firmly to the existing windows without bubbling.
