Summary of Specifications:
1. The City of Rochester Hills is soliciting proposals to provide the supervision, labor, equipment, traffic signage, traffic control, services and expertise required to perform stormwater catch basin cleaning services including the removal, transportation, and disposal of debris and non potable water from identified catch basins located throughout the City. Debris and sediment shall be removed from grate openings, the catch basin, and catch basin sump. Optional services, only upon request by the City, may include jet cleaning any outlet in a catch basin that is covered by debris up to a maximum of fifty (50) feet. 2. There are approximately 4000 catch basins located within the City of Rochester Hills, of which, up to 2000 catch basins shall be cleaned within a year. The City will provide the selected contractor with a map of the stormwater system and indicate which structures are to be cleaned. The intent, beyond preventative maintenance of the catch basin cleaning program, is to clean catch basins of debris prior to our West Nile Abatement program. The “mosquito dunks” are put in place, starting June 1st (approximately) and have a life cycle of three (3) months. Therefore, the catch basins should be cleaned prior to June 1st or after September 1st. Specifics will be coordinated through the Department of Public Service Director of his designee.
