2021-020 - Space Reconfiguration at Monroe City Hall

Sealed proposals for the construction of: 

SPACE RECONFIGURATION AT MONROE CITY HALL

will be received, through electronic submission, to the Michigan Intergovernmental Trade Network (MITN) until 10:00 A.M., LOCAL TIME, Monday the   11th    day of  October, 2021.  The bids will be publicly unlocked from the MITN web site with bid total and other pertinent information read aloud at 11:00 A.M. the same day via Zoom teleconference.  Bidders desiring to attend this opening should email edward.sell@monroemi.gov no later than Wednesday, October 6 to obtain the meeting link.  This contract shall consist of reconfiguration of internal office space within the first floor of City Hall, including modifications to the existing public-facing counters in four (4) departments, installation of additional interior walls and doorways, modification of the existing main building entrance, and related electrical and lighting work.

There will be a REQUIRED pre-bid meeting beginning on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Monroe City Hall, and bidders should check in with the Engineering Department to determine the exact meeting room.  As this meeting is essential to ensuring that bidders understand the full scope of the project, bids may be rejected from bidders that do not send a representative to this meeting.  The meeting will include a site tour of the work areas.  Any questions on this contract / bid documents should be asked in writing (email) no later than Friday, October 1, 2021 at 4:30 P.M., to provide adequate time for preparation of an Addendum, if necessary.  Should an addendum be necessary, this is intended for publication by the close of business on Thursday, October 7, 2021.  Bidders shall note that Prevailing Wage provisions apply to this contract, and are contained within Division J of the contract.

The City of Monroe reserves the right to accept any proposal, to reject any proposal or to waive defects in proposals.  A bid bond or certified check made payable to the City of Monroe in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the bid must be posted by each bidder with his / her bid.  No bidder may withdraw their bid within   SIXTY (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof, but may withdraw it at any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipts of bids.
