RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS
Sealed bids for Painting of the Exterior of the Department of Public Works Building located at 4093 Manor Dr. Burton, MI 48519 are invited and will be received by the City of Burton, a Michigan Governmental Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Owner), at the Burton City Hall, 4303 S. Center Rd., Burton, Michigan, not later than 10:00 a.m. local time on May 19, 2023. Immediately thereafter all bids received will be publicly opened and total prices read aloud in the Council Chambers. A copy of all Specifications and Contract Documents are on file for inspection at City of Burton Purchasing Department, 4303 S. Center Road, Burton, MI, alternatively available via electronic option can be requested by sending an email to: j.griffith@burtonmi.gov. Any bid received after the time and date specified will not be considered.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Bids are solicited under a general contract for the following approximate quantities of work:
Specifications include but are not limited to: Repair and repaint the exterior of the Department of Public Works Building as follows: Pressure wash the entire exterior. After pressure washing and before painting: scrape any loose paint and repair any crack or joint in the cement blocks. Apply two coats of waterproofing masonry coating flat exterior paint to the masonry areas of approximately 5,500 sq foot of area. Apply two coats of high quality exterior acrylic paint to the metal areas of approximately 7,500 sq ft of area and on the overhead garage doors of approximately 1,200 sq ft of area. If spraying MUST back brush or roll to maximize penetration, coverage, and sealing. The colors will be complementing gray tones to be approved by the City of Burton prior to start. To be completed no later than July 30, 2023.
