Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, supplies, materials and insurance required to successfully perform and provide work as stated. • Wheels to be refurbished are commercial steel wheel used on Gillig transit busses manufactured between 2002 and 2017. • Wheel sizes are 22.5 and 24.5. • KCATA shall provide Contractor with a minimum of ten (10) wheels not to exceed thirty (30) wheels per month. KCATA reserves the right to provide Contractor with an additional sixty (60) wheels during the initial two-year term of this agreement. Minimum and maximum quantities shall remain firm for option years three (3)) and four (4) o KCATA estimates average monthly quantity of 20 wheels. • Contractor shall pick-up and deliver commercial steel wheels from KCATA, 1350 E. 17th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108. Freight is to be prepaid by the Contractor FOB, KCATA Shipping and Receiving, 1350 E. 17th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108. • Wheel refurbishment shall include at a minimum sand blasting, inspection and paint. o Sand blasting: Wheel shall be sand blasted to bare metal. Wheels shall be free from rust and paint. Blasting shall be repeated as many times as necessary obtain desired results. o Inspection: Wheels shall be inspected in accordance with ATA standards for cracks, oblong bolt-hole pattern and other defects that would render the wheels unsafe. Bolt holes shall be inspected with a “GO/NOGO” gauge, furnished by contractor. ▪ Wheels found to be defective shall be returned to at no additional cost to KCATA. o Paint: Wheels shall receive a powder coat application, water base or baked enamel paint. The finish coat shall be a minimum of three-mil (3mm) thickness of disc face. Primer and finish coat color shall be white. • Wheel batch shall be completed and returned to KCATA within two (2) weeks after pick up of lot. • Invoice shall reflect the quantity of wheels refurbished.
