Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Offeror will be expected to conduct an AHERA three—year re-inspection and update of the KCPS’s Asbestos Management Plan (Plan) pursuant to and in accordance with all regulations related to Containing Materials in Schools. The Offeror will also be expected to assist KCPS in determining which school buildings are subject to the AHERA regulations, which school buildings have not been initially inspected as required under AHERA and developing appropriate management plans for such buildings. All on-site work shall be performed on a mutually agreeable schedule in coordination with KCPS’s designated person for AHERA matters. Inspections should be conducted only during hours that building maintenance staff is present. Classroom activities should not be disturbed any more than necessary. The re-inspection and Plan update will include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Visually re-inspect and re-assess, in accordance with current regulations related to Containing Materials in Schools, the condition of all friable known or assumed ACBM previously identified. 2. Visually inspect material that was previously considered non-friable ACBM and touch the material to determine whether it has become friable since the last inspection or re-inspection. 3. Identify all homogeneous areas with material that has become friable since the last inspection orre-inspection. 4. For each homogeneous area of newly friable material that is already assumed to be ACBM, bulk samples may be collected and submitted for analysis in accordance with current regulations. 5. Assess, in accordance with current regulations, the condition of the newly friable material in areas where samples are collected and newly friable materials in areas that are assumed to beACBM. 6. Submit to KCPS’s designated person for inclusion in the management plan the following. results of the assessments and reassessments; the exact locations where samples were collected; a description of the manner used to determine sampling 7. Locations; name, signature and license number of the inspector making the inspection; any new management plans; name, signature and license number of the management planner; and all other documentation required under AHERA. The accredited management planner shall immediately review the results of the re-inspection and/or re-assessment and recommend in writing to KCPS any appropriate response actions.
