Specifications include, but are not limited to: ● All components should be Cat6 component level rated. ● Patch panels and all cabling to be mounted on existing free standing or wall mount racks. ● Install and terminate Category 6 cabling to all requested locations. Cables to be pulled from station locations to the MDF/IDF on the appropriate hallway/floor. All cable runs should be 100 meters or less. A 5’ service loop should be left at the IDF end of the cable. Service loop to be coiled and supported above the ceiling. ● We are requesting all new cables be run to new jacks in classrooms. There will be one jack in the front of each room and one in the back. (There may be some exceptions) ● Offices, cafeteria, library and other non-student areas will receive two jacks per workstation. Each copier and Timeclock will require one jack. ● New pathways should be used for all new cabling. Do not bundle with previous/other cables. ● All fire alarms, HVAC, elevator, and security alarms will be re-cabled to the new patch panels. ● All old unused jacks must be covered with a blank faceplate in all site locations. ● All cabling is to be plenum rated. ● Provide Cat 6 patch panels as required for each site. (568B) ● Cable in MDF/IDF to be terminated on RJ45 patch panels. 568B configuration. ● Vendors shall provide cable runs which are less than 100 meters. Longer runs require CSD4 approval. ● Vendors shall provide and install fire-stopping barriers to preserve the integrity of fire-rated structures when openings are required for telecommunications cabling. Fire-stopping barriers shall meet the same fire resistance rating as the structure, accommodate the penetrating items, function as a smoke barrier, and be reasonably easy to re-penetrate to accommodate service changes. Sleeves and slots shall be properly fire stopped throughout the vendor’s installation except during cable placement. ● Vendors shall install all cables in building steel above ceiling. ● Vendors shall install all cabling so that it is concealed. Surface raceway shall be used only where approved by CSD4. ● Vendors shall ensure that all cable shall be terminated, tested, labeled and documented to CSD4. As-built drawing should be included. ● Upon final acceptance by CSD4, one (1) complete sets of as-built documentation shall be furnished in hard and soft copy in pdf and recent version of Autocad. This documentation must clearly and thoroughly identify the installed cabling and room numbers. This documentation shall also include a soft copy of cable test results verifying that 100% of the cable plant successfully met performance requirements. ● Vendors shall provide Cut Sheets for all cabling. ● Vendors shall provide labeling of cables at both MDF/IDF and station ends. Cable shall also be labeled with permanent marker. Numbering and labeling scheme shall be approved by CSD4 before installation begins. ● Vendors shall be responsible for providing all required hardware, Velcro wraps and supplies required for a professional installation. ● Vendors shall uninstall the current 110 block after cutover to new cabling. ● All work should be done at Missouri Prevailing Wage. ● All old cabling must be removed and disposed of.
