Specifications include, but are not limited to: Proposers must implement one or more of the following violence prevention services: •Youth Development programs for K-12 graders that build critical thinking, decision making, and interpersonal skills; Proposers will select which grade(s) they will work with (activities may include but are not limited to) critical thinking skills, decision making skills, stress management, de-escalation and mediation techniques; and/or •Provide positive, fun, engaging, educational activities in neighborhoods, identified as having high levels of violent crime in Part I of the Uniform Crime Report (UCR), that attract and retain youth (for example: activities may include but are not limited to educational games such as Chess or video games; block parties; neighborhood restoration/beautification projects with an intergenerational component). Activities must be provided by a current or start-up neighborhood association or block unit. The neighborhood association or block unit must provide the service in the neighborhood or block in which they are located.
