Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work scope also includes the maintenance of beds planted with flowers, trees, weed control and other tasks as detailed elsewhere in this specification. The Contractor shall perform the specified work with experienced personnel using industry standard practices, equipment, and safety measures. The Contractor shall maintain the designated areas in a well-kept, neat appearance throughout the year of the Price Agreement. The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary to perform the specified work in a safe manner. 2.1 Turf Grass Lawn: The Contractor shall be responsible for the maintenance of all turf grass lawn areas located within the Lemay Treatment Plant premises. The maintenance shall include the performance of various tasks as delineated in the specification below. 2.1.1 Aeration and Thatch Control(Item #96507): The Contractor shall aerate all turf grass lawn areas (‘1’ & ‘2’) with a core aerator, once per year of the price agreement: this should be done as directed by the District. The Contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that the lawns are in a suitable condition to allow proper aeration and discourages thatch development. The Contractor shall exercise care when aerating to ensure that the concrete roadway pavement and sidewalks are not chipped or otherwise damaged. The Contractor shall remove soil plugs on the same day the plugs fall on the plant’s concrete roadway and sidewalk pavement. 2.1.2 Fertilizing(Item # 96508): All turf grass lawn areas (‘1’ and ‘2’) shall be fertilized with a 21-3-7 slow release, such as IBDU or coated, or agreed upon alternative type fertilizer as directed by the District. Prior approval is required before performing work. Fertilizer shall be applied at the rate of 1/2 lb. of actual Nitrogen per 1000 S.F. Bidders should input their price per 1,000 square feet for line item 8 on the bid form. 2.1.3 Overseeding (Item # 96510): All turf grass lawn areas (‘1’ & ‘2’) shall be overseeded by the Contractor with an improved tall turf fescue mix as directed by the District. Prior approval is required before performing work.
