Specifications include, but are not limited to: MSD is soliciting bids for the transportation of heavy construction equipment throughout the District. This is a 525 square mile area including the city of St. Louis and roughly 80% of St. Louis County. This is primarily for the transportation of tracked rigs and rubber tire backhoe loaders weighing up to 30,000 pounds on an as needed basis. It may include hydraulic jackhammers, additional buckets, or other accessories. Service will be required after normal business hours, weekend, and holiday transportation due to emergency work. The successful bidder shall obtain required permits, load, off load, secure, all transported equipment. This successful bidder will also be required to carry full liability and equipment damage/replacement insurance on all MSD transported equipment. The successful bidder must be qualified to set up proper work zones if one has not been established at the site solely for the purpose loading or off-loading equipment. The District estimates there will be from one (1) to five (5) heavy equipment moves per month depending on weather conditions and emergencies. The average time per move over the last year has been approximately 2 hours. The District currently operates three maintenance yards
