Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall exploratory angle and/or vertical drill and grout services near and under occupied houses and businesses (hereinafter referred to as a structure) for the Department of Natural Resources. a. Based on past experience, it is anticipated that drilling services will be required for approximately 2-5 emergency site investigations per year. Upon request by the state agency, the contractor shall provide follow-up grouting services for approximately 1-2 of site investigations. 1) For purposes of this document, site investigations shall be defined as drilling operations conducted to ascertain if there are mine subsidence problems that affect human, health, and damage to property resulting from underground mining roof collapse, or other mine related problems. b. The state agency anticipates that most work will be in the City of St. Louis or the Tri-State Lead/Zinc Mining District in Jasper and Newton counties. However, based on previous projects, additional sites may be identified during the performance of the contract which may include, but not necessarily limited to, sites in Adair, Audrain, Barton, Bates, Boone, Callaway, Dade, Franklin, Henry, Howard, Jasper, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lawrence, Macon, Newton, Randolph, Ray, St. Clair, St. Louis, and Vernon counties. c. The contractor shall understand and agree that the contract may also be used for high-priority, non-coal shaft closure projects typically located in Barton, Dade, Franklin, Jasper, Jefferson, Lawrence, Newton, St. Clair, and Vernon counties.
