Specifications include, but are not limited to: ➢ The Contractor shall purchase and install three AO Smith DRE-80-12 480-volt 3 phase electric water heaters to replace current AO Smith DSE-100-12 water heaters. ➢ The Contractor shall provide and install a properly sized expansion tank. The expansion tank shall be installed in a manner that water can easily be shut off for service or replacement. Example being that the tank is installed after the water heater cold water valve and before the water heater. The Contractor shall properly support supplied expansion tank. ➢ The Contractor shall solder all connections, PRO-PRESS style fittings shall not be permitted ➢ The Contractor shall be responsible for removing and disposing of the old water heaters. ➢ The current cold-water supply header must be moved up in order to remove the water heaters. This will require cutting into the water main of the building without any way to isolate. Freezing the line to install a valve is an option the County will allow. Shutting the water off to the entire facility can be allowed prior to 7:00 a.m. to prevent freeze plug from dislodging if service is restored before 7:30. Contractor may start as early as 6:00 a.m. Shutting off water and draining system is not permitted.
