A "Sheriff Ordered Tow" is the towing of a motor vehicle or equipment ordered by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for any of the following: Abandoned vehicles, including motor vehicles, haulers, all-terrain vehicles, boats, or vessels, which are subject to removal from both public or private property, whether operational or not. Illegally parked vehicles. Impounded vehicles. Wrecked vehicles where the operator for whatever reason is not capable of requesting a tow service. Tows where the service requested by the County/operator of the vehicle is unable to respond in a reasonable time period. Any other tow ordered by the County or Sheriffs Office not excepted by this Contract. A "Owner Request Tow" is a tow where a specific tow company is requested by any one other than an authorized representative of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to provide the required service, although the Sheriff’s Office may be involved in facilitating the call for service. A "Tow Sheet" is a form used by the County (which is the same as DOR Form 4569 but adapted for County systems) which records all of the Tow information and is provided to the Tow at or near the time of service.
