The general requirements of this project are as follows: 2.2.1 Type: Wall-mounted exterior sign with integrated backlighting (LED). 2.2.2 Purpose: Permanent identification signage for building or facility. 2.2.3 Location: Mounted to exterior wall at designated location per architectural drawings. 2.2.4 Size: Shield 88 inches, backlit Letters 72 inches, black letters 16 inches. 2.3 The salient characteristics of the sign to be installed above Door #66 shall be as follows: Materials ● Face Material: ○ 3/16" to 1/4" thick UV-stable translucent acrylic or polycarbonate. ○ Colors to be as specified or matched to approved Pantone or brand color. ○ Vinyl or digitally printed graphics applied second surface, or routed-through with backed acrylic for push-thru letters. ● Return (Sides): ○ Aluminum, minimum 0.090” thickness, painted or powder coated. ○ Welded and ground smooth at seams. ● Back Panel: ○ Aluminum sheet, minimum 0.125” thickness, with mounting support structures. ○ Painted or anodized to match returns or wall conditions. ● Mounting Hardware: ○ Concealed mounting brackets or raceway as required. ○ Stainless steel or galvanized fasteners, corrosion resistant. Illumination ● Type: ○ Internal LED backlighting. ○ White. ● LED Modules: ○ UL-listed, IP65 or better rated for exterior use. ○ 50,000+ hour rated life. ○ Even light distribution with no hotspots. ● Power Supply/Control ○ Supply and install a photocell control to operate from dusk until dawn. ○ Remote mounted transformer or driver (UL listed). ○ 120/277V input, 12/24V DC output as appropriate. ○ Accessible for maintenance. Electrical ● Electrical service to an exterior electrical box will be made by building owner prior to installation of the sign. ● Electrical service shall be according to Lee’s Summit Building Codes. ● Sign shall comply with NEC, UL 48, and all local codes. ● Include disconnect switch on sign if required by code. ● All wiring in conduit or approved weatherproof cabling. Fabrication & Workmanship ● Edges and corners: smooth, burr-free, with no sharp points. ● All seams and joints: fully sealed and weatherproof. ● Sign shall resist wind loads per local building code (typically 90–120 mph). Finish ● Paint: 2-part polyurethane or powder coat, UV and weather-resistant. ● Color: As selected from the manufacturer’s full range or matched to the architect’s sample. ● Graphics: Cut vinyl, screen-printed, or digitally printed with UV clear coat.
