Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall be available to provide snow removal twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. The contractor shall provide the state agency with a means to communicate with the contractor (e.g. cell phone number) for the original contract period and any potential renewal periods. The contractor shall provide snow and ice removal services after a snow event, after a freeze or refreeze, and at the request of the state agency. For the purpose of this document, a snow event shall be defined as an unspecified period of time of continuous or intermittent periods of falling frozen precipitation significant enough to warrant removal of the frozen precipitation to free the parking lots and pedestrian walkways of hazards caused by the frozen precipitation. Snow removal services for a snow event shall include plowing, shoveling or sweeping, ice melting agent, salt, sand, potassium chloride, or magnesium chloride, and be billed at the incremental pricing per occurrence as stated on Exhibit C, Pricing Pages. The contractor shall NOT include the prices as stated on Exhibit C, Pricing Pages, for salt, sand, ice melt agent, potassium chloride, or magnesium chloride application and hand shoveling or sweeping snow or salt, sand, ice melting agent, potassium chloride or magnesium chloride when billing for a snow event at the incremental pricing per occurrence as stated on Exhibit C, Pricing Pages. The contractor and the designated state agency representative shall mutually agree upon the amount of snow accumulation. The contractor shall agree and understand that the designated state agency representative shall make the final decision on the amount of snow accumulation without recourse. The total accumulation shall be calculated using the amount of snow on the ground at the time the contractor provides the snow and ice removal services. For the purpose of the document, a refreeze or a freeze shall be defined as a freezing of surface moisture resulting in slip and/or slide hazards. Snow removal services for a refreeze or a freeze shall include salt, sand, ice melting agent, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride and the application of the salt, sand, ice melting agent, potassium chloride, or magnesium chloride and be billed at the per hour, per person rates for salt, sand, ice melting agent, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride application and hand shoveling/sweeping snow and the prices per pound and/or per ton for salt, sand, ice melting agent, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride as stated on Exhibit C, Pricing Pages.
