Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 The Contractor will be required to provide all equipment, machinery, vehicles, supplies, labor and supervision to provide snow removal services, including plowing snow and spreading salt, sand or cinders on roadways and streets within the City of Town and Country as directed by the Director of Public Works. Deicing salt or any other material to be applied will be provided by the City and loaded onto the Contractors equipment by the City, unless other arrangement are mutually agreed upon. 1.2 Bidders are required to be familiar with all Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances and regulations which may, in any manner, affect the work or its prosecution, persons engaged in, or employed on, the work and supplies and equipment used in the Work. 1.3 The Contractor, shall, at all times, conduct his operations in such a manner as to insure the least obstruction to traffic. The convenience of the general public and of the residents along and adjacent to the roadways shall be provided for in an adequate and satisfactory manner. 1.4 The Contractor will be responsible for storing all of his equipment at his own facility. The location of the contractor's equipment storage facility will be used by the City in evaluating proposals for this service. 1.5 All of the roadways and streets included in this contract are two (2) lane streets varying in width from approximately ten (10) feet to twenty-eight (28) feet. 1.6 There are approximately seventy-five (75) centerline miles of street included in this contract within the City of Town and Country. It is divided into multiple routes that will be assigned a minimum of one (1) truck equipped with a salt spreader and plow per route. At the discretion of the Director of Public Works, additional trucks may be required to provide an adequate level of service. 1.7 It is the intention of the City of Town and Country to utilize the contractor for Snow removal services on an "As Needed Basis" when weather and roadway conditions warrant such services. 1.8 The City reserves the right to award the entire snow removal contract to one contractor or multiple contractors based upon manpower and equipment availability as indicated on the itemized bid form. 1.9 Any damage caused to private property as a result of the snow removal operations including, but not exclusively mailboxes, turf, driveways or vehicles is the sole responsibility of the contractor to repair or replace.
